Data Driven Academics and Title 1 math |

Bellview's Data Team meets regularly throughout the year to review student progress in reading, writing, math and behavior. The team meets with teachers to assist in planning for instruction and support.
Bellview's daily schedule includes 30 minute blocks in both reading and math to provide extra support and instruction tailored to student's needs. This ensures that students that receive extra academic support through Title 1 services are not pulled from their core instructional blocks, maximizing their opportunity for academic growth. |
National and State Standards serve as a foundation for K-12 education in Oregon. Detailed curriculum and standards can be viewed @ www.ode.state.or.us. State and local districts continually update curriculum to address the requirements of recent federal legislation for the Common Core Standards. Ashland School District promotes practices that give our children and youth the confidence and strategies to become knowledgeable and independent learners. Curriculum guidelines correlated to the Oregon State Standards, are developed by and for teachers.
The goals of our Mathematics Program are for all students to value math, to become confident with mathematical thinking, to solve problems, to communicate mathematically, and to learn to reason mathematically. The purpose of computation is to solve problems. Children develop whole number computation so that they can use a variety of estimation techniques, use calculators in appropriate situations, select and use computational techniques and check to see if the results are reasonable. The District has adopted “Expressions” for its elementary math curriculum. |
